Bangkok (Warren Kennedy) ran on well to win.

BANGKOK, improved when tried over a mile in June, relished the 1950m of a Maiden Plate at Scottsville on Sunday and won a decent race from I Fly and Dancing Moonlight.

The three-year-old gelding, trained by Gavin van Zyl and ridden by Warren Kennedy, stayed on well for his first win Justin Vermaak said: “Bangkok is a half-brother to five-time winner Peep Show and he has a lot of scope. He is still looking for more ground and learning to race.

“In this first try over ground he replicated his solid track work with a win. Congratulations to our owners and to Gavin van Zyl for a job well done.”

Bangkok is owned by GSB partners including Graeme Hawkins and Wilfred Pirzl. He is by Judpot from Topless Towers, by Fort Wood and was bred by the Wilgerbosdrift/Mauritzfontein partnership.
