DURING a busy National Yearling Sales week for Green Street Bloodstock, our runners performed exceptionally well on the track with two winners at successive meetings.

We gave our readers some confidence about Airtaxi last week and our owners were also able to get a decent price on Airtaxi, who opened 11-2 before starting around 4-1.

The Johan Janse van Vuuren trained debutant made his solid home gallops count with a workmanlike first-up win over 1000m at the Vaal on Thursday for jockey Randall Simons. He can only improve from here.

Airtaxi is owned by GSB in partnership with the Nassif family and Justin Vermaak congratulated all and thanked them for their support. Airtaxi is a son of Bold Silvano and Angel at My Table, by Count Du Bois, and was raised at Maine Chance.

Trap Lord, easy to back at any price, gave an indication that he was coming to hand with a much improved fifth place at Fairview recently. He improved further to score a good 1.75-length Maiden win over 1200m Friday for trainer Dorrie Sham and apprentice Matthew Thackeray.

Owned by a GSB syndicate including regulars Steve Bailey, Anthony Destombes, Mike Bracher and Fabian Oostendorp, this R42,000 CTS bargain buy by King’s Apostle can definitely win again, he has youth and some scope on his side!

Trap Lord (Thackeray) recovered his purchase price after only four starts.
