CAPTAIN Al gelding Greenstreettractor seemed to be up against it from an average draw and with a hot favourite in Race 3 over 1600m at Kenilworth on Saturday, but he produced a strong finishing effort to get up near the line, recording his first success for Green Street Bloodstock and partners.
Greenstreettractor must have had the best part of 12 lengths to make up as the field turned for the judge, but he was shaken up by Corne Orffer and in full stride when it mattered most.
Justin Vermaak, speaking from the Magic Millions Sale, was relieved to have broken a string of close GSB places with another winner, GSB’s first for 2018 and 43rd overall, and congratulated the partners.
Greenstreettractor is owned by GSB members in partnership with Mr L Glover and Grant Knowles’ Diesel Syndicate. He was bred by Klawervlei Stud.
