GREEN Street Bloodstock’s Jet Master gelding Master’s Spirit has been disappointing so far in his new silks, but Justin Vermaak hasn’t given up on him.
Master Spirit was transferred to Port Elizabeth earlier this year with a view to racing on the Polytrack, but he has remained unsound and has now been moved to the Western Cape, where Justin Snaith and his team will work with him.
Justin Vermaak said: “Master’s Spirit is nice and fresh in Cape ToWn, he is enjoying the beach and the sea water and his soundness is improving. Also we expect the expert work of Chris Snaith to help with his niggles. His merit rating is coming down, he could be competitive again soon, perhaps around MR78.”
