GSB’s weekend runners

The Byzantine, one to watch.
The Byzantine, one to watch.

HERE are Justin Vermaak’s comments for this weekend’s Green Street Bloodstock runners:

Saturday Scottsville

The Byzantine (Race 1): “This is a smart horse, it is still early days for him and there is plenty improvement to come in the next 6 months. Bernard rode him six weeks ago and again yesterday and said that there was marked improvement made from him. It is hard to be confident going into races against Silvano colts out of Gr1 winning Al Mufti mares and some other well performed maidens at this stage of his experience but he should be in the money and is one to watch later.”

Saturday Kenilworth

Ostinato (Race 3): “She has been a bit disappointing but she ran a good race last time and her work has been very good, she comes back down to 1200m after recommendation from Bernard at her last start. She takes on older horses but the field looks weak and she shouldn’t miss the money here and holds a goo winning chance as well. The form of her last run has worked out very well.”

Midtown Manhattan (Race 10): “If this filly didn’t draw that wide I would have made her a good betting proposition, but from there its going to come down to luck. Aldo knows her very well and her work has been excellent, she has more ability than a MR63 so hopefully she brings it to the track and wins.”
