OSTINATO (12-1) scored a big win for Green Street Bloodstock Syndicate members, flying up late in the last race on 2018 Sun Met day, Saturday 27 January. She found a run near the inside rail, kicked on strongly for Craig Zackey and got up on the line to beat Hoist The Mast in an exciting finish.
Justin Vermaak was delighted to host several GSB owners on the Cape’s biggest race day and he paid tribute to Ostinato, saying: “She’s been a wonderful filly to race, she has done so well for us. She has had 12 runs since April 2017, constantly on the go and she didn’t miss the first four in all 12 races, including six seconds and two wins.
“She went to the beach this morning (Monday) after her win and now has six weeks in the paddock to rest before she comes back for the winter season.”
A lease from Ndoro Stud, Ostinato is by Judpot from Waltzing Time (by Anytime). She races for a syndicate that includes her trainer Glen Kotzen, Fabian Oostendorp, Kenny Govender, Dion Ramoo, Julian Spaans and Wildfred Pirzl, who has now enjoyed 10 winners with Green Street Bloodstock.
Three-year-old Ostinato has banked over R230,000 in stakes with her consistency and big heart.
