A busy weekend for GSB runners

Deadline Day, steps up at Kranji.
Deadline Day, steps up at Kranji.

HERE are Justin Vermaak’s GSB runner reports for this weekend:

Saturday:
Beaute Noire (Oaks Trial): This filly is in at the deep end but trainer Weiho Marwing has always thought of her as an Oaks filly so will have to be good enough to run well here if that’s the case, she has had some soundness issues and has just had one run since her break, a place would be a great result.

Last Outlaw (Derby Trial): He has been disappointing as a 3yo this year, I had this race earmarked for him after his second in the TBA 1600. We have to go 2000m with him eventually, so may as well go here as it turned up a weakish field bar one or two who look well in at the weights. I am a bit concerned of first time blinkers from a wide draw over more distance, but if he runs to his best form he will have a chance.

Calladdi (Scottsville Sunday): He shows plenty ability and he will run well here. Varallo was very green when beating one of ours last time and will have improved plenty so he looks hard to beat but we will know where we stand after this.

Deadline Day (Sunday kranji):
He is looking for further but we elected to give him one more 1200m after his debut win, he isn’t well weighted and is drawn 11, will drop him in and expect to see him running on into the money.
